The Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has confirmed to Channels Television that the explosion that rocked the city of Port Harcourt early Thursday morning was an explosion on a bus and not a suicide bomb attack.

Mr Rotimi Amaechi who spoke from the scene of the explosion stated that “the bus was conveying three armed robbers who had explosives and AK-47 rifles.”

The explosion occurred at 10:30am in Rumuokoro area, of the oil rich city killing one person.
